ABOUT MY CARS
...........................................
I have been interested in cars from as far back as I can remember.
My earliest car memory comes from further back than you may be willing
to believe. When I was about 2 or maybe 3 years old. My next door
neighbor was an airline pilot and had a new Corvette. Of course
at that age I didn't know what a Corvette was, but I knew I loved
being picked up and placed into that red convertible. From there
I remember my Dad slightly customizing a VW Super Beetle. I remember
my grandmothers 1967 Firebird. Those cars certainly influenced my
taste, but my love for cars comes from my Uncle Jim. He was the
one who is responsible for my near obsession with cars. As a child
in the 1970's I remember riding in his AMC AMX, and both of his Mach I's.
I can still feel the torque as he drove me for hot dogs. In the 1980's he was an exotic car
salesman. Just after receiving my license I was either driving, or driving in Ferrari's,
Porsche's, Lotus', Lamborghini's, Aston Martin's, Saab's, BMW's,
Audi's, Jaguar's, and Mercedes Bens'. What an experience. At that
age, those cars meant more than they ever could at any other age.
They weren't cars they were treasures. Thanks again Jim.

My 1986.5 Porsche 928S:
...........................................
You may make the connection between the age of the car, and the
age of the owner. That's correct, this car was new when I was
about to get my drivers license. It was the ultimate Porsche.
I never had the chance to drive one back then. I could only dream
of one day owning one. It's now in my garage, surrounded by prints
from 1986 that my Uncle Jim gave me at the time to try to ease
the pain of knowing I couldn't own one. They look nice ,thanks
Jim.

My 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo
...........................................
Again there is a connection between the age of this car, and
the age of its owner. This car was new when I was a senior in
college. In fact, a friend of mine received that very car as
a gift from his grandma for graduating. Go Grandma!! I told
him then that I was just a poor college student who loved his
car, but one day I will have the money to buy it, so If he ever
sells it, let me know. Well, he called me years later, and I
bought it. Sight unseen. When I went to pick it up it looked
as good as the day I first saw it. Thanks Joe.

My 1988 Toyota MR2 Supercharged
...........................................
This car ROCKS! I saw this car up on one of those big ramps
outside of a car dealership on the way back from a family vacation.
I said to my Dad who was driving; "Hey Dad, that was an
actual factory supercharged Toyota MR2!" I had never seen
one before in person so I bought it. It now has over 250,000
miles on it. (It had 39.000 on it when I got it). I Loved EVERY
mile. That car is now in my Dads garage. He's looking after
it. Thanks Dad.

My 2003 Mach 1
...........................................
I can trace this back to my Uncle Jim too. His 69 and 70 mach 1's
made such an impression on me when I was young that when Ford paid
tribute to those cars by reintroducing it, I HAD to get one. This car
has all the raw torque and tire shredding power that I remember from those
glorious muscle cars of the late 60's. It's brutal. It definitely
demands respect from its driver. The chasis just can't keep up with the motor
on this car. It makes for an interesting balance between exciting and scary.
Although my Porsche has more power, better brakes, a chasis that you
just can't upset, and a rediculous top speed, this car would destroy it in any
contest of acceleration. This car can BRING IT!

My 1994 Chevy S10 Blazer
...........................................
My good friend "Johnny Too Smart" sold this to me. I love this thing. I don't love it because it's something special, I love it because it's NOT. This car/truck alloys me to enjoy owning other vehicles that are not so practicle. It gives me something to carry "stuff" in, for parking in places that I would be affraid to park other cars. It has four doors and sits four adults. It drives well in rain and snow. It just makes sence. I knew I needed something like this for many years but just couldn't bring myself to spend money on one. I commuted in the snow with the Mach1, the turbo MR2, and the Supercharged MR2 for years and years. Finally my friend made me a financial offer I couldn't refuse. I cleaned it up and have been using it trouble free ever since.
